What a glorious sport sailing is - out on the open sea with the wind in your hair as you race along. This is your chance to give it a go. Your two nights aboard this 30 feet yacht will give you a great introduction to the sport of yachting, turning you from a dedicated landlubber, into sea hungry sailor. Aye, aye captains as they say in the trade.

The courses commence on Friday evening with two night's on-board accommodation normally included. The courses are designed to give a 'taster' of the sport of yachting. The structure of the course will allow you to do as much, or as little as you desire. So, if you want to actively take part in all aspects of sailing the yacht you will be taught all the correct techniques required, or simply relax and let the skipper do the work as you soak up the atmosphere of being at sea.

 

  • Minimum age: 18.
  • Smoking is not allowed below decks.
  • It normally takes 24 hours to find your sea legs. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist in advance if you require seasickness medication.
  • Courses run on selected weekends March to October.
  • You should aim to arrive by 8.30pm on Friday evening and you will depart on Sunday afternoon.
  • The weather will not normally be cause for cancellation of the experience. In the unlikely event it is postponed, a further date will be offered to you.
  • Mooring fees away from base will be charged at the end of the weekend, normally not more than £3 per head
  • You will need to take the following items with you:
    A sleeping bag and a small pillow, t    owel, toiletries and sun cream. Warm jumpers (minimum two), T-shirts and cotton trousers or leggings (but not jeans) Gloves and a woolly hat. Soft shoes with non-skid white soles.
  • Please pack your clothes in a squashy bag as no suitcases are allowed on board

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
