This Vineyard Tour, Tasting and Lunch experience will provide you with a fascinating insight into the world of English wine production, including the history of winemaking. You will enjoy an interesting and entertaining tour of the vineyard where you will be shown a variety of vines and how they are trained to grow before visiting the bottling plant. With this tour you will also get to taste some of the vineyards’ best wines.

On arrival at the vineyard, you will be asked to register before being introduced to your tour guide. The experienced tour guide will lead you out into the vineyard for an overview of English wine production, the different wine varieties they grow and how the vineyard differs from continental vineyards. They will discuss the problems they encounter with weather, disease, pruning and harvesting. You will also visit the winery and bottling plant where you will discover the secrets of the winemaking process from the arrival of the grapes, to the bottling of the finished wine. They will also explain how sparkling wine is produced, what ‘methode champenoise’ means and how the wine is tilted and turned in order to extract the sediment. This first part of the tour will take place inside in the event of inclement weather. After the tour, you will accompany the guide to the tasting room where several wines can be appreciated and any additional questions you may have can be answered.
Tea and coffee on arrival, lunch and soft drinks, instead of wine if preferred, are all included in the price of your experience. You will also receive a complimentary bottle of wine per voucher to take home with you. You will also have an opportunity to purchase further wine on the day.

  • Minimum age: 18
  • The facilities are not suitable for babies or toddlers to accompany participants
  • There are no minimum or maximum height or weight restrictions
  • Participants should be in good general health. There is some walking involved, although the distance is not great. If you have any disability or illness that may prevent you from taking part in the experience you must discuss this with the centre before booking
  • The experience is available at Framlingham, Suffolk - selected weekdays and Saturdays, April to September inclusive and Hastings, East Sussex - most weekends and selected weekdays all year round
  • A delicious buffet lunch will be provided as part of the experience. Please notify the centre of any dietary requirements when making your booking
  • Unfortunately this is not a spectator experience
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
