The “Ultimate Top Gun Experience” is unique in the UK, and is the closest you can get to being a fighter pilot for the day.  After a formation take-off and close formation manoeuvring, you will fly some aerobatic manoeuvres (yourself!) and be introduced to tail-chasing/simulated air combat against your opponents aircraft - the sport of kings! 
This is a hands on experience – you are not a passenger – you fly the plane, you feel the g-force, you get the thrill.
“Ultimate Top Gun” air combat/tailchasing flights are in the Extra 300, a modern high performance display aircraft.  The trip is flown in pairs in close formation.
Guests are able to fly a large proportion of the flight themselves (apart from take-off, landing and close formation), under the careful guidance of their instructor.  As flights are tailored to the individual, they can be as mild or wild as you choose!

  • A ground briefing which lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes all safety/parachute procedures and how to fly aerobatics and air combat (yourself!)
  • Use of flying suit, parachute, headseat and name badge.
  • Flight of approximately 40 minutes.
  • Debrief of approximately 20 minutes.

On arrival you’ll be required to sign a medical form. You will then be kitted out into military flying suits and have the opportunity to choose your call-sign name badge (“Maverick” etc) for the day. A Pre-flight group briefing (2-4 people) - including safety/parachute brief, how to fly the aircraft, aerobatics and introduction to air combat manoeuvres, which is then followed by a short video. Students will be matched into Top Gun “pairs”. And receive a pairs sortie pre-brief with instructor pilots.
Strap on your parachute and the instructor will go through the cockpit controls and further safety brief at the aircraft. Your instructor will be sat next to you for the duration of your flight. A formation take-off will follow (2 aircraft) and formation close manoeuvering in the climb. A demonstration and practice of effects of controls and aerobatics manoeuvres will be shown and then you will get your ‘hands on stick’ time and the opportunity to fly basic aerobatics. A demo and student practice tail-chase with the other aeroplane - ‘shoot the bandit’ and lots of smoke!
Your instructor will talk you through the return to base where you will exit the aircraft, and a “pair” debrief will follow from the  instructor pilots, including the g pulled, review of tail chase results and a signed flight certificate.

  • Maximum age: none (over 61s must supply a doctor's letter confirming suitability to fly)
  • Maximum height: 6ft 3in
  • Minimum height: 5ftMaximum weight: 15 stone 7lb (based on participant weight fully clothed and wearing shoes)
  • Participants must be able to climb in and out of the aircraft unassisted, and be physically capable of operating a parachute in the event of an emergency You will be required to complete a medical self-certification form before taking your flight, and in some cases following this you may be required to obtain a letter from your GP confirming your suitability to fly
  • Participants are required to sign a disclaimer before taking part
  • Participants must be in reasonable health and will be asked to sign a medical form before flying
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
