Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse designed in 1599 where many of Shakespeare’s plays were performed.  During your experience you will be able to join a guided tour of the Globe Theatre and discover the exhibition which explores the life of Shakespeare, the London where he lived, and the theatre for which he wrote. After the tour you are issued with a guidebook from the Gift Shop.

Based under the Globe Theatre, the engaging and informative Exhibition uses modern technology and traditional crafts to bring Shakespeare’s world to life. Imagine the Globe as it would have been: the centre of what was once London’s most notorious entertainment district, surrounded by raucous taverns and bawdy-houses. Find out about extravagant Elizabethan costumes, musical instruments and how they were used, listen to recordings from some of the most famous Shakespearean performances, and add your voice to scenes performed by Globe actors. A visit to the Exhibition includes a guided tour of the theatre where expert guide-storytellers provide fascinating half hour tours of the auditorium, taking visitors on a journey through time back to Elizabethan London as well as the reconstruction process of the 1980's-90's and how the wooden 'o' works today as an imaginative and experimental theatrical space.

  • A reasonable level of fitness is desirable as some walking is involved
  • The Globe is fully wheelchair accessible
  • Kindly note that we cannot guarantee all areas of the Globe will be open on the day of your visit; therefore we strongly recommend that you call the supplier the day before your visit to check of any closures/restrictions
  • You should allow approximately 1 and a half hours for the experience
  • Shakespeare’s Globe is open all year round apart from 24th & 25th December. Details of opening hours will be sent with your voucher
  • Shakespeare’s Globe is a working Theatre, please note that the opening hours and tour times are subject to change. During matinees performances in the theatre, visitors will be taken to the nearby of Bankside’s first theatre: The Rose
  • Customers are advised to call in advance to check the itinerary
  • Your voucher includes the 30 - 40 minute guided tour of the theatre, plus an all day ticket to the Exhibition
  • At the end of your tour please visit the Gift Shop and present your voucher for your guidebook. Please note there is 1 guidebook per couple
  • Please ensure you take your experience vouchers with you on the day

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
