The Thunderbolt is a unique high performance inflatable catamaran built in South Africa for surf rescue. This exceptional craft is set up to enable anyone to quickly take to the wheel and have fun racing through the surf.

You’ll feel like James Bond in this high-speed sea adventure. The Thunderbolt is an insanely agile, adrenaline pumping, performance powerboat. Great fun on calm water and a huge grin inducer in waves and in the air. It’s safe, comfortable seating enables you to throw around this outrageous inflatable catamaran and the experienced instructors on board will ‘take you to the limit’

Your experience begins with a safety briefing and an introduction to the boat. You then get changed into the Saber Powersports racing team kit and safety gear. Then it’s onto the water.

You board the Thunderbolt with an experienced instructor who runs through the driving procedure before the high adrenaline action begins.

This adrenaline fuelled experience includes:

• Instruction on cornering and racing technique
• Wave jumping
• High speed take offs

You will then be taken to the high speed offshore circuit where you will have the opportunity to race against the clock to find the ‘Aquastig of the Year’

You will share the driving with one other guest so each person has at least ½ hour driving time.

During the debrief you will receive a photograph to remember the day.

  • Minimum age: 12 (under 16s will need to be with parents or guardians)
  • Maximum age: 70
  • Minimum height: 5’
  • Maximum weight: 16 stone
  • The experience is not suitable for those with back, neck or heart complaints or for pregnant women
  • Months of operation: May - October
  • Days of the week: Weekends
  • Allow two hours for the entire experience. You will have one hour on the water with 30 minutes at the controls of the Powerboat with another person in the same group. Your experience will be shared with a small group
  • Spectators are welcome
  • There is a free car park, two on site restaurants as well as a pub and a café. Dogs must be kept on a lead and children must be supervised at all times (it is a marina)
  • You will be provided with a water proof jacket
  • Disabled access is limited please contact us to discuss requirements
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary. Please check with the venue when booking

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
