Be seen on board soaking up the atmosphere in the Marina and spend time cruising on the Solent. You can even take the controls to feel the breathtaking performance of this superb motor boat taking in the sights of both East and West Cowes, Isle of Wight.

You will be met at the Banana Wharf Bar/Restaurant at Ocean Village Marina and taken to your powerboat for the day. A safety briefing will then follow. You will then depart from the marina and head towards the Isle of Wight. Then learn the ‘rules of the road’, regarding navigation, colours and direction of the buoys before the throttles are opened and the skipper demonstrates what she can do. After that take a turn at the helm to feel the power and get use to this wonderful boats handling. On reaching the mouth of the River Medina you will travel upstream, taking in the sights of both East and West Cowes; home of the world famous sailing regatta! Then it’s back down to the open water again and time to steer a course back to Southampton, with the chance once again to open the throttles for more thrills and power boating at optimum speed! If time allows, you can have a go at their always very popular ‘man overboard’ procedures (with a prop, not a guest). And finally arriving back at the marina, fully exhilarated you can now relax and reflect on your day at sea.

 

  • Minimum Age: 7 (under 16s must be accompanied by a fare-paying adult)
  • There are no height restrictions, but you must not weigh more than 18 stone
  • This experience is not suitable for anyone with a serious back or heart complaint or if you are pregnant. If you have any illness or disability that may affect your participation in this experience, please discuss this with the centre before booking
  • Please note this experience is only available on selected weekends between April – October inclusive
  • This experience is weather dependent and dates may need to be rearranged due to weather conditions
  • Unfortunately there is no disabled access for this experience 
  • This experience is not suitable for spectators. Friends and family can wave you off from the shore
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
