This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your camera and capture great photographs of some very unique animals. The Wild Arena photography days are exciting and fun and held at Knowlsey Safari Park, Woburn Safari park or Port Lympne Wild Animal Park. They allow unique access around the venues with plenty of close up encounters with the animals. Escorted by keeping staff and your photographic guide through the day you are ensured of great learning opportunities about the animals you encounter and the picture they present. All three venues have an element of photographing from vehicles allowing wider shots as well as close up portraits of animals in the animal reserves.

Upon arrival at your chosen park you will be directed to the car parking area and greeted on site by a Wild Arena guide who will stay with you and the group for the duration of the day.
After some refreshments you will be given a briefing session on the parks animals, how to get the best from the photographic opportunities through the day and the basic health & safety rules for the site. Guests are welcome to ask questions on their photography and our aim is to offer advice on every level of experience.

Port Lympne
Port Lympne has two key attractions; the enigmatic gorillas including a wonderful ‘bachelor’ group and the new African Experience Safari reserve with giraffe, rhino, wildebeest and antelope. Your day will concentrate on these two areas with great picture opportunities from a private safari drive and privileged access to the gorillas at feeding time. You will stop for lunch during your experience. You may also see colobus monkeys, de brazza monkeys, the red panda and other species.

Knowsley
Your day at Knowsley will start with the unique opportunity to photograph the majestic herd of elephants in a very natural paddock. You will then move on to see giraffe, meerkats, and otters before lunch. In the afternoon you will be driven around the large safari reserves seeing rhino, buffalo, and various species of antelope and deer. The day will finish with special access to the huge troop of baboons and an exclusive chance to see the lions, hunting dogs and tigers being feed by the keepers before home time.

Woburn
Woburn is one of country’s best known safari parks and has a superb range of animals including rhino, giraffe, a variety of antelope, the ‘Monkey Jungle’ and ‘Carnivore Park’ with lions, tigers, bears and wolves. The day includes two full drives around the reserves before lunch with off road access. The day will finish with a wonderful close up encounter of the lemurs.

  • Minimum age: 16 years (under 16's need to be accompanied by an adult)
  • This experience is available all year round. Start times are approximately 9.30am and finish approximately 5.00pm
  • The experience requires no qualifications and is suitable for all guests interested in photography and animals
  • You will need to bring your own camera
  • Disabled access is available
  • The day is fully inclusive of admission, tuition, guidance, lunch and refreshments
  • Please note we cannot guarantee that all the animals listed at the parks will be seen on the day of your experience
  • Content and equipment will vary at each location
