The Royal Pavilion started as a modest 18th century farmhouse. Architect Henry Holland helped George Prince of Wales, transform his humble seaside retreat into a handsome neo-classical villa – known as the Marine Pavilion.
With it now being famously known as the Royal Pavilion this experience will allow you to visit some of the stunning rooms it has to offer to include the Music Room, Great Kitchen, King’s Apartment, Banqueting Room and elaborate Royal bedrooms.
Complete your experience with a delicious high tea of scones, jam, fresh cream, tea and even two glasses of sparkling wine in the Royal Pavilion Tea Room overlooking the glorious restored Royal Pavilion gardens.
You will also leave with a guidebook explaining the vast history of the Pavilion and it’s future developments.

  • Minimum age: 18
  • The Pavilion is open all year except the 24th and 25th December
  • As a guideline you should allow approximately two hours to make the most of your visit to the Pavilion but there is no limit to the visiting time
  • High tea is served in the Pavilion Tea Room which can get busy at peak times so it is advisable to arrive in plenty of time as there may be a wait for a table
  • Kindly note there is walking involved during your visit to the Pavilion and some areas are outside so please dress accordingly
  • The ground floor of the Royal Pavilion is easily accessible to wheelchair users with wide doorways and no steps to negotiate. There is a specially adapted ground floor toilet available. Wheelchairs are available on request. Ground floor visitors can enjoy the sumptuous Music Room and Banqueting Room, drawing rooms, the Great Kitchen and the King’s apartments, as well as the Royal Pavilion Shop which leads to the exit. On the ground floor there is an audio-visual room with a video presentation about all aspects of the Royal Pavilion. Access to the first floor is via the staircase only
  • Please note there is only one guidebook per couple
  • Kindly note that we cannot guarantee all areas of the Pavilion will be open on the day of your visit; therefore we strongly recommend that you call the Pavilion the day before your visit to check of any closures/restrictions
