This course is designed to help you become a better photographer by learning the techniques and skills of the manual controls of your camera.

This half day photography course will provide you with useable, practical and creative skills and is aimed at all levels, from the beginner to those with some understanding of digital photography. You will learn vital information that will enable you to operate your digital camera effectively. You won’t have to worry again about your friends and relatives having to trawl through your holiday snaps without falling to sleep! We’ll give you hands on, practical and creative advice on how to produce stunning pictures that you’ll want to keep – not delete! The day will include hands on workshops in aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance and exposure control. It will also include the rules of compensation and how you can apply compensation creatively to drastically improve your photography.
The day starts at either 9.00am and finishes around 1.00pm, or you can choose the later course beginning at 2.00pm and finishing around 6.00pm - we always hang around later than that to answer specific questions or to run through additional topics, depending on how hungry you are for more knowledge!
We don’t like too much theory and whilst you will learn the important lessons of how the camera works, we’ll also get you out there using your camera and taking photographs.

  • Minimum age: 16 years
  • This experience is available on selected weekends only throughout the year, approximately once every 2 months in London and approximately once every 3 months at all other locations.
  • You will need to bring your own camera. This will need to be a digital SLR as a standard compact digital camera isn’t suitable
  • All bookings are subject to availability
  • You should allow approximately 4 hours for the half day
  • Disabled access is available
  • Vouchers are valid for 12 months
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary. Please check with the venue when booking

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
