This one day portrait and studio photography course will give you the opportunity to learn how to use studio equipment to take photographs of models. The course is hands-on and you will be taught everything you need to know about portraits, equipment and lighting. You will also be able to use the images taken on the day for your portfolio.

This full day course will familiarise you with a wide range of studio equipment and how to use it to its full effect. The day will begin with an introduction on aperture, shutter speed, composition and how you will be experimenting with them throughout the day. You will be photographing live model(s) whilst being instructed through the various techniques, skills and methods. This is an extremely hands-on workshop, where you will be given the opportunity to expand your skills and creativity by instantly implementing what you have learnt.

  • Minimum age: 18
  • This course is not suitable for beginners. All participants will need to be at a competent level of photography – with knowledge & understanding of the manual capabilities & controls of their camera - aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, composition and exposure control
  • You will need a DSLR camera (Digital Single Lens Reflex). A compact, standard digital camera will not be sufficient. Please call the supplier for further details and types of camera’s to bring
  • Please allow approximately seven to eight hours for the whole experience, with a usual start time of 9.30, finishing at around 17.00
  • This experience is available on selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year
  • This experience is not suitable for spectators
