Most drivers think they could easily cope with any situation on the road that includes a skid. However, the truth is not quite as certain. There are many different types of skid a vehicle is able to get into and each one requires a different kind of skill to get out of the situation. This course has been specifically designed to teach you the best way to avoid a skid, and how to cope with one should the situation arise.

The course starts with a talk explaining the format and safety of the session. The causes, types of skid and cures are all discussed – together with cadence braking and observation. The instructors will then take you on the skid pan and follow through the briefing by demonstrating the relevant points. Course members then take the wheel in turn and carry out exercises under the guidance of the instructor. These exercises are made progressively more difficult as the session proceeds. You will undoubtedly be a much safer driver after this course ends.

  • Minimum Age: 17 (18 at Silverstone, Northamptonshire)
  • Maximum Age: 70
  • Minimum Height: 5' (5' 2" at Northamptonshire)
  • Maximum Height: 6' 5" (6' 7" at Northamptonshire)
  • Maximum Weight: 18 stone.
  • You must have held a full UK driving licence for at least 1 year to take part in this experience (with the exception of Wiltshire where you need to have held a full UK licence for at least 3 months). 
  • Your driving licence must be presented on the day (no photocopies)
  • Availability on selected dates throughout the year.
  • Please allow approximately 2-3 hours for this experience.

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
