The sport of Land Yachting is centuries old, 4000 years give or take a little, but the experience is very futuristic. Imagine sitting inches from the ground and hurtling across the sand, with the power of the wind giving you instant acceleration and enormous control.....this is your chance.

  • 3 hour Land Yachting Taster Session

  • Learn the correct techniques required to drive the Land Yacht

On arrival you will be greeted by your instructor who will explain the format of your
experience and a full safety briefing will be given. During the initial briefing, you will
be taught the correct techniques required to drive the Land Yacht both safely and quickly under your control. You will experience your first sail at low speed and you’re your expert instructor will show you how to stop your land yacht. Then you progress to a figure of eight course learning safe, controlled turns. If you show good control at this level, you can go on to learn a more difficult manoeuvre called a gybe turn. Once the basics have been mastered, these Land Yachts are capable of incredible speeds.

  • Minimum age: 16
  • Participants should be in reasonable health and have a general level of fitness
  • Reasonable agility is required to get into the craft, so if you have any concerns please discuss them with the centre
  • Courses run on selected dates throughout the year although courses are not run in July or August due to crowded beaches and infrequent winds
  • Most Day Courses start at 10.00am but tide times are also a factor, please check when you book a date for the activity
  • Spectators are welcome free of charge
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
