Strap yourself in and prepare for the ride of your life. Blokarting is the newest adrenaline sport to make its way to England from New Zealand. This light, wind-powered go-kart can reach speeds of up to 90km an hour as you zoom along just inches above the ground.

After your arrival and registration, you will attend a briefing, which will explain safety procedures and basic sailing theory. The instructor will explain the all important instructions on how to stop and you will be encouraged to move across the wind and then turn up wind letting the sail out to bring the kart to a halt. You will also be taught how to circle the kart and how to ‘tack’. As you practice at either end of a cross wind course forming a figure of eight you’ll soon build your confidence with the help of your expert instructor. You may even have chance to take part in a short race with your group to demonstrate your new-found skills. At the end, you will be presented with a personalised certificate as a memento of your experience.
 

  • Minimum age: 16 (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult)
  • Minimum height: 4'
  • Maximum height: 6'6"
  • Maximum weight: 18 stone
  • All medical problems including previous and/or current musculoskeletal problems must be disclosed and you will be asked to sign a disclaimer on the day. This experience is not suitable for those with a history of chest pain, breathlessness, blackout/fainting, epilepsy or pregnant ladies
  • The experience is available all year round on selected Tuesdays, Wednesdays and weekends, subject to availability and weather conditions
  • You should allow approximately 3 hours for the whole experience
  • Blokarting is ideal for paraplegics as all controls are by hand only. Assistance will be provided as appropriate. There are no specific disabled facilities at the airfield
