We all know eating fish is highly recommended but knowing how to cook fish and being imaginative with recipes can be challenging. This one day cookery class is designed to teach you a number of key fish dishes for both everyday cooking and entertaining family and friends. You will learn how to make fish stock, what to look for when buying fresh fish and where to buy from, and different ways to prepare and cook seafood. You’ll be creating dishes such as crispy spicy prawns with spring onions, Pacific Island raw fish salad with mango and red pepper, pan-fried mackerel with fennel and watercress; north Indian fish stew with potatoes, and lemony herby panko crumbed fish with crème fraiche tartare. All the classes are entirely hands on and you will be able to take home a number of the dishes you have cooked – so be ready to share a feast with your family and friends.
Classes are small, with a maximum of six participants to ensure that you will get plenty of one to one tuition.

On arrival participants will be registered and be offered beverages of their choice. The day starts with a brief introduction to the herbs and spices you will be using throughout the day, after which you will learn to make a delicious fish stock from scratch, and cooking a number of very exciting dishes. All beverages, wines and beers are included in the experience. Each participant will receive an information and recipe pack including details of what has been cooked on the day. Lunch is included and participants have the option of taking home what they have made in the class.

 

  • Minimum age: 11
  • The experience is available Monday to Saturday from September to July. Classes run from 10.00am to 4.00pm
  • Please allow a total time of 6 hours, although actual time participating will be approximately 5 ½ hours
  • The experience is unaffected by weather unless there is a severe weather warning by the emergency services for travel purposes
  • All participants must have a valid voucher
  • A soft drink alternative will be offered to under 18s. ID may be required
  • When making your booking please mention any special dietary requirements
  • The dishes made during the morning will be enjoyed for lunch. The dishes made in the afternoon will be boxed up along with the remainder of the morning’s dishes for you to take home
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary. Please check with the venue when booking

 

 

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
