This driving skill has been brought to public attention by the recent block buster movie ‘The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift’ and is also heavily featured in both ‘Top Gear’ and ’5th Gear’ TV programmes. No supercar road test is complete without a tyre burning Drift session on the test track, so why not learn how to do it too.
Once in the car you will receive expert tuition as you launch one of the Drift cars sideways through the corners, spinning the wheels as you power off to the next corner. Your instructor will teach you where you need to start turning, how to control a slide round a corner and other Drifting techniques. With this experience you will drive for four laps before your instructor takes you for a hair-raising passenger lap.
You’ll also watch the professionals compete against each other with this Drift Taster plus Admission for Two to see the Twin Drift Battles.
Buxton Raceway, located in the hills of the Peak District, hosts the UK Open Drift Championship. This voucher allows you and a friend to gain access to the venue so you can watch all of the action as the competitors battle against each other to get enough points to get them through to the final.

Drift Taster -
On arrival at Oulton Park you will be asked to sign in as a participant before being given your crash helmet. An event coordinator will then escort you to your allocated rear wheel drive Drift car. Once inside the car your instructor will run through a safety and procedure briefing before running through the vital instructions of how you get the car to drift, then you are all set to start your Drift lesson. Once you have completed your driving session of four laps you will swap seats with your instructor for a hair-raising passenger lap before being presented with a certificate of your experience.
Twin Drift Battles at Buxton Raceway -
Once you have arrived at Buxton Raceway you will be directed to park by the Buxton Raceway staff and then to the grandstand to watch the action as the competitors battle against each other to get enough points to get them through to the final.
Your tickets to the Twin Drift Battles, to be used at Buxton Raceway on one of the available dates within the same validity period as your original voucher, will be issued to you once the Drift Taster is booked. There is no need to book a date for the Twin Drift Battle but you must take your tickets with you to gain entry.

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Minimum height: 4ft 10in
  • Maximum height 6ft 6in
  • Maximum weight: 18 stone
  • Please note: participants in the Drift Taster need to be comfortable to get in and out of the car by themselves or aided if necessary.
  • Drift Taster: Selected dates with a minimum of one day per month
  • Twin Drift Battle 2012 dates are
  • March 11th, April 15th, May 13th , June 10th, July 1st, July 29th, September 2nd, October 7th, October 28th
  • Drift taster – please allow up to 1½ hours for your visit with 15 to 20 minutes actual driving time
  • Twin Drift Battles - Allow up to 5 hours for your visit (depending on whether you arrive early to watch the practices). The competition itself lasts around 2½ hours
  • Drinks and snacks can be purchased at the onsite bar
  • Please note that the Drift Taster is for one participant, but spectators are welcome.
  • You will be issued two tickets for the Twin Drift Battle. Any others wishing to join you and your guest for the Twin Drift Battle will need to purchase a ticket from the venue
  • Your voucher is valid for six months from the date of issue. Kindly note that vouchers may not be extended beyond their expiration date. Your voucher may not be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion
  • The experience content used and restrictions may vary. Please check with the venue when booking

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
