This is a unique opportunity to join famous chef Jean-Christophe at his delightful 14th-century Hertfordshire farmhouse home for an informative and fun cookery extravaganza, where he will share with you his passion and enthusiasm for cooking.  You will have the chance to taste each course prepared by the charismatic French chef, accompanied by hand-picked matching wines.  The Novelli Academy is ranked amongst the top 25 cookery schools in the world, and Jean-Christophe is a Michelin and 5AA Rosette award-winning chef with a wealth of prestigious accolades to his name, so you’re in the best hands!

This one-day course has been personally created by Jean-Christophe Novelli to appeal to all ages and abilities, whether you’re a novice or an experienced cook!  The NovelliAcademy aims to make cookery and wine appreciation accessible to everyone.  Jean-Christophe will personally guide you through the day and he is a fantastic entertainer, with an enormous sense of fun that is not only contagious but guaranteed to put you at your ease.  We guarantee that this is a day you’ll never forget!
Under expert instruction and using only the finest seasonal produce and ingredients, you will be shown how to create a diverse range of gourmet dishes.  The former star of TV’s ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ will reveal the secrets behind the correct use of seasonings from fresh garlic to chocolate, to name but a few!  The course is always inspirational and enlightening and guaranteed to add new dimensions to your cooking as you sample the food, and handpicked matching wines, along the way. 
Please note that this course will be based on demonstrations and tastings, and you will not actually be cooking yourself. 

  • Minimum age: 16 (under 18’s need parental/guardian consent)
  • You must notify the centre of any food allergies or dietary requirements when booking
  • Courses are held on selected weekend dates from mid February to December
  • Courses usually start at 11am and finish at 5pm, kindly note these timings are approximate and subject to change
  • Since the centre is a listed 14th century building and disabled facilities are not currently available. If you have any disability or illness that may prevent you from taking part in the experience you must discuss this with the centre before booking
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary. Please check with the venue when booking

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
