This former RAF fighter airfield saw action during the Battle of Britain and is steeped in history. Today, Duxford is Europe’s premier aviation museum where you can discover an outstanding collection of over 150 historic aircraft from biplanes and spitfires to Concorde. The de Havilland Dragon Rapide is one of the best-loved pre-war aircraft. A favourite of the rich and famous - no doubt because of her grace and reliability - Edward VIII, as Prince of Wales always kept one at his disposal. Classic Wings have meticulously restored this aircraft to comply with modern regulations to make this an unforgettable experience.

Your experience will start with a full pre-flight briefing from your pilot before stepping out to this glorious aircraft. Once in the air, the flight will cruise at 1,500 feet giving you an unequalled view of the Cambridgeshire countryside as you fly south towards the magnificent London skyline. First you will recognise the National Westminster and Canary Wharf towers then, suddenly, The Thames will be beneath you. Tower Bridge and the Tower of London will look very different framed between a pair of silver wings. The voucher includes free entry to The Imperial War Museum (for voucher holder) and half price entry for spectators.

  • There are no specific medical requirements but if in doubt please ask your doctors opinion
  • As with most forms of air sports, they can be affected by weather conditions. If however your experience cannot take place due to the adverse weather an alternative date will be offered to you
  • It is very important that you call the dedicated weather phone line to check that your flight can go ahead, otherwise you may have a wasted journey for which we cannot be held responsible
  • Spectators are welcome, there is a charge to enter the museum but this will be half the usual entry fee
  • Flights operate on most weekends from March to October

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a gift pack to you or directly to the recipient. A voucher and booking information will be included in the pack so you just need to check the info and book your experience.
