Ever wanted to learn how to fly? Microlights will give you all the thrills of a light aircraft at half the cost. Some of our instructors are World and European Champions giving the best instruction possible with you at the controls.

What does the activity include?
The lesson begins with a thorough briefing on all aspects of microlight flying from your instructor. You will then take to the air for this fantastic experience. The ‘open air’ style of these aircraft lets you experience the true meaning of freedom. You can either sit back and enjoy the ride or you may be able take the controls for a more ‘hands-on’ experience depending on the location you choose and the weather conditions on the day.

What should I wear/take?
Please allow approximately 1 hour for the whole experience. Your actual flight will last for around 20-25 minutes.

When does the activity take place?
Most centres fly throughout the year, both midweek and weekends.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on the voucher. This is only a guideline and we advise you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. You must book and take your experience before the expiry date. All bookings are subject to availability.
Are there any restrictions?
The minimum age for microlighting is 14 with written parental consent required for 14-17 year olds.
Maximum weight limit 96kg / 15 stone (but also dependant on the location you choose, please check at the time of booking)
You must not suffer from Epilepsy, Fits or Blackouts. Please contact eXhilaration if you have any questions.
What about the weather?
As with many air sports, Microlighting is affected by the weather. Moderate winds and a minimum cloud base of 1,000 feet are required for your experience.
Should the weather prevent you from flying on the day of your experience, an alternative time will be made available.
Can I bring spectators?
Spectators are welcome.
What else do I need to know?
Please telephone the centre on the morning of your flight to check on the weather conditions.
Please be aware that your flight can take place in either an open cockpit or closed cockpit (type of aircraft is subject to availability and may vary depending on location).
Your voucher is valid for nine months from the date of issue.
Personal accident & cancellation insurance are included.
Kindly note that each centre has their own cancellation policy and fees. Some centres may not allow a booking to be cancelled or changed once it has been made. Please call us for further details.
