Bird of Prey Handling Day
Experience the ancient and beautiful art of Falconry. This demanding practice is reputed to be the oldest field sport in the world and eXhilaration have arranged for you to experience the thrill of handling and flying these magnificent birds of prey.

What does the activity include?
After coffee and registration you will spend the morning learning about all aspects of falconry, from the Falconers Knot to flying and handling these magnificent birds. In the afternoon you will move out to a countryside environment to fly the hawks, returning to the centre at about 4.30pm.

The experience takes place in Nottingham or Kent.
What should I wear/take?
As this activity will be mostly outdoors, we suggest you wear comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the weather conditions and a pair of strong walking boots or wellingtons if possible.
How long should I allow for this experience?
You should allow a full day for this activity.
When does the activity take place?
The activity takes place all year round but spring, autumn & winter are ideal seasons for falconry as the temperatures are perfect for the birds in these months.
We recommend that you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on the voucher. This is only a guideline and we advise you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. You must book and take your experience before the voucher expiry date. All bookings are subject to availability.
Are there any restrictions?
Minimum age for Falconry course is 14 years.
What about the weather?
If the weather is cause for cancellation then an alternative date will be offered to you.
Can I bring spectators?
Spectators are welcome but there may be a charge depending on location.
Kent - 1 spectator per voucher holder is permitted at a cost of £30.
Nottingham – 1 spectator per voucher holder is permitted, spectators under 10 years old are free, over 10 years old there is a £30 charge.
Spectators must be booked in advance but the fee is payable on the day.
Spectators under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult for insurance reasons.
What else do I need to know?
Wheelchair access and facilities for the disabled are available at Kent.
There will be walking over rough terrain, reasonable fitness is required
Kindly note that a 2 course pub lunch is included at the Nottingham location.
Your voucher is valid for nine months from the date of issue.
Personal Accident and Cancellation Insurance is included.
Kindly note that each centre has their own cancellation policy and fees. Some centres may not allow a booking to be cancelled or changed once it has been made. Please call us for further details.
