What does the activity include?
Windsor Castle is one of three official residences of The Queen and has been home to the Sovereign for over 900 years. The Castle is the largest inhabited castle in the world and the oldest in continuous occupation. The imposing towers and battlements of the Castle loom large from every approach to the town, creating one of the world's most spectacular skylines. No other royal residence has played such an important role in the nation's history.
Marvel at the magnificent State Apartments, which house some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Gainsborough and the famous triple portrait of Charles I by Sir Anthony van Dyck. Visit St George’s chapel, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England. It is the spiritual home of the Order of the Garter, the senior order of British Chivalry established in 1348 by Edward III. Within the chapel are the tombs of ten sovereigns, including Henry VIII and his third wife Jane Seymour, and Charles I. One of the highlights of a visit to Windsor has to be Queen Mary's Dolls' House, a miniature mansion built to perfection and the most famous dolls' house in the world. You may also visit the Drawings Gallery which shows changing exhibitions of material from the Royal Library at Windsor Castle Between October and March, the semi-state rooms are also open.
Then enjoy a delicious traditional afternoon tea for two in The Castle Hotel, just a short stroll from the castle itself. Relax in the Pennington Lounge or Windsor bar as you are served a selection of finger sandwiches, a variety of fine cake and homemade scones, preserves and clotted cream, all served on a silver tiered stand. Freshly brewed tea or coffee and service is also included.

What should I wear/take?
Kindly note there is walking involved during your visit to the Castle and some areas are outside so please dress accordingly. The dress code for the Afternoon tea is smart casual and jeans and shorts are not permitted.
How long should I allow for this experience?
As a guideline, you should allow at least 2 hours for your visit to the Castle but there is no limit to the visiting time.

As a working Royal palace, the Castle is frequently used by The Queen for State ceremonies and official entertaining and opening arrangements may change at short notice. Please check opening arrangements with us before securing your date although we cannot guarantee these will not change again before your actual visit.
Afternoon tea is available to book between 12 midday and 5pm, 7 days a week, subject to availability.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on the voucher. This is only a guideline and we advise you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. You must book and take your experience before the expiry date. All bookings are subject to availability.
Are there any restrictions?
Kindly note that we cannot guarantee all areas of the castle will be open on the day of your visit.

The weather will not affect this experience.
Can I bring spectators?
The voucher is valid for two people only.
What else do I need to know?
You may enjoy afternoon tea at your leisure. We would recommend that you visit the castle before your afternoon tea to make the most of your visit. Please call us to book.
The visit to Windsor Castle and Afternoon tea must be taken on the same day. The location for the tea is a short walk from the main entrance of the Castle.
Once you have booked at date for your experience .you must provide at least 1 working day’s notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule your booking. If you provide less than this charges are likely to be made.
Please bring your experience voucher with you on the day, as you will need to present this at Windsor Castle admissions to gain entrance. Once you have booked a date and time for your experience, you will be sent a confirmation letter, please take this with you on the day and present to the hotel when you arrive for your Afternoon tea. Failure to present either of these will result in refused entry.
Most public areas at Windsor Castle are accessible for wheelchair-users, including the State Apartments. Wheelchairs can be borrowed, free of charge, from the Visitor Centre. However, they cannot be pre-booked and must remain in the Castle grounds. There is also wheelchair access and cloakrooms available for the Afternoon tea.
There are three shops within the Castle, all selling merchandise exclusive to Windsor Castle.
Guided tours of the Castle Precincts introduce Windsor's history and the Castle's role today. They depart at regular intervals from the Admissions Centre and are included in the ticket price.
Owing to the current security situation, visitors will not be allowed to take any form of liquid into Windsor Castle.
An audio tour is also included in the ticket price.
